How we got started...
When Alex first suggested that we should go camping, I was less than enthusiastic. I had never been camping and was thinking of sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag, mosquitos the size of helicopters, and no bathrooms available. Then he suggested we rent a camper. I had never even set foot inside a camper before, but thought it sounded better than a tent.
After our first trip renting a camper, we were hooked on camping. We were able to explore new places and experience activities we didn't take the time to do at home. We really enjoyed getting away from everyday life and going fishing, biking, hiking, kayaking, and going places we had never been before.
Renting campers allowed us to enjoy camping with modern amenities like air conditioning and bathrooms. We ended up renting RVs several times and with the different types of rental campers available, we were able to try different types of RVs and see which worked best for our family.
If you have not camped in an RV yet, and would like to experience RVing, renting may be the way to go to see what your needs are. There are several apps and sites that allow you to book and rent and start RVing today. Even if you never plan to ever buy an RV, but like to travel and have different adventures, it will definitely be a memorable experience.
There are a few things to keep in mind when renting an RV. With some of the rentals, you may need to bring your own linens and kitchen utensils. It is also a good idea to check with your car insurance company for your rental coverage options. Most RV rental companies will offer some type of insurance coverage for an extra fee. Some companies also will charge by the distance travelled, while others have a flat rate, so it may be costly at times. Check with your rental agency to see what is included with your RV rental.
Many adventures later, we decided to purchase an RV as that made the most sense for us. Thanks to the variety of the rentals, we were able to choose a camper based on our family and how we use it.
Stay tuned for the places we will take you while we explore the beautiful state of Florida!
